Nik Powell, Director of the National Film and Television School, was delighted to accept a cheque for £1000 from the Chairman of the Beaconsfield Film Society, Anthony Pickavance, who said,
“Although the NFTS is in the top three Film Schools worldwide, most people don’t realise it is a charity and as such must rely on donations for it’s operating funds. The Members of the BFS are delighted to make a contribution which in part acknowledges the support and facilities the School provides. The donation, said Nik, will be used to aid a student who has great talent but lacks financial resources.”
Nik and Anthony are joined by Ashley Pharaoh who is an old boy of the School and who has found international fame for his work in television, creating such series as ” Life on Mars “ and ” Ashes to Ashes “. Ashley visits the School when his busy schedule allows to conduct Master Classes.
The NFTS is a registered charity (313429). Just over 50% of its income derives from statutory sources. For the remainder of its core funding the School depends on the generous support of individuals, corporate supporters and foundations.
The School needs funding for core activities, scholarships, equipment and project funding. You can support the School in various ways – by establishing a scholarship , naming a seat in our cinema or hosting a dinner. And there are many other ways in which you can help.
