was the worthy winner of our Members Graduation Film Festival. Jade Li (Director/Writer) and Martyna Jakimowska (Cinematographer) joined us on 12th November for a short ceremony. This beautifully shot and ingenious film tells the story of a concert violinist battling with a tremble in her right hand during her first week as a soloist with a prestigious British orchestra. There is racial prejudice and magical Chinese healing remembered from her grandfather and a sumptuous soundtrack composed by Noa Magalit is another outstanding delight. How could the director assemble a large professional string section for a specially composed classical concert on her minute budget? I know – Magical thinking.
24 minutes of absorbing filmmaking, everyone in a 50-strong crew are to be congratulated. A mini United Nations from almost every country.
