A film about the talented but forgotten Sunderland born artist Audrey Amiss (1933-2013), a promising Royal Academy student whose life was changed by mental breakdown in her mid 20’s. Having researched very extensive archive material and artwork related to Audrey in the Wellcome Institute’s collection the film’s director, Carole Morley, created a touching and moving story of friendship set against an imagined, event-filled, road trip from London to Sunderland driven by Audrey’s care worker Sandra. Monica Dolan and Kelly Macdonald are excellent as Audrey and Sandra. The film’s title is how Audrey chose to describe her occupation on her passport. Running time: 108 minutes
