The F-Rating was introduced at the 2014 Bath Film Festival as a way of supporting and promoting women both on-screen and behind the camera in an effort to redress the imbalance in the film industry. The F-Rating is awarded to films which are:
- Directed by women
- Written by women
- Has one or more significant women on-screen
Qualifies with one of the above
Qualifies with two of the above
Qualifies with all three of the above
