UK 2020. Jim Broadbent and Helen Mirren star in this unlikely tale of an elderly taxi driver, Kempton Bunton, who in 1961 steals Goya’s portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery in London. He sends ransom notes saying that he will return the painting if the government invests more in care for the elderly. A charming feel-good movie, also notable for being the last film of Notting Hill director Roger Michell. Running time 96 minutes.
Before the screening, the winners from the BFS Graduate Film Festival, Jade Li (writer/director) and Martyna Jakimowska (cinematographer) will show us samples of their work and talk about their art and aspirations.
