ONE LIFE – A film which moved many to tears.
Nicholas Winton
Sir Nicholas Winton is not only a British icon, he is also a Czech icon as well as being known around the globe for his rescue of 669, mainly Jewish children from Czechoslovakia days before the outbreak of the Second World War. His story of rescue was hidden away for many years until his wife discovered a scrapbook in later life.
A sold-out house watched the film after his son Nick told us about his father’s iron-clad commitment to humanity which reached well into his retirement in Maidenhead. He passed, aged 106 in 2015.
The Sir Nicholas Winton Charitable Foundation carries on his good works, helping refugees and educating youngsters to understand the often difficult and tragic past.
