The story of the extreme bravery of Nicholas Winton, a London stockbroker working in Prague who, in 1938, was consumed by the need to safeguard children in Czechoslovakia from Nazis already occupying the country and who’s intention was clear. His plan to save the children was dismissed as naive by those more hardened but he returned to London determined to help. With the assistance of his equally dogged mother, they started gathering visas and finding homes and organised the successful evacuation of hundreds of children against impossible odds. Starring Anthony Hopkins, Helena Bonham Carter and Jonathan Price. Running time 110 minutes.
Before the film, we are very fortunate to have Nick Winton, son of Sir Nicholas, who will talk about the more personal aspects of family life during and after WW2,.
