Cheese and Wine Tasting Accompanies French Film Evening
Beaconsfield Film Society organised a cheese and wine tasting event on October 11th 2025 for those attending the screening of a double bill of French cinema:- one film set against a background of artisanal cheese-making (Holy Cow) and the second one reflecting the importance of wine appreciation to French culture (The Tasting).
Two cheeses and two sparkling white wines, one each from France and England, were offered and sampled by appreciative members.
We were also able to hear most interesting and knowledgable commentaries on the subject of our delectation from Katherine Dart MW, who chose and presented the wines, and from James Grant, who made available slices of mature French Comte and English Burford cheese.
Katherine has been a Master of Wine since 2006, and is one of only 151 women in the world with this qualification. With long experience in the wine trade, Katharine founded her own company, Grape and Nectar, to share and promote lnowledge of wine. Passionate about all things wine, she believes that everyone should drink wines that make them smile.
