Beautifully shot in black and white, with a haunting soundtrack, the film is set during the Cold War in the 1950s. It tells the story of a musical director who falls in love with a young singer, and follows their subsequent story over the years. The film is loosely inspired by the lives of Pawlikowski’s parents. Running time: 88 minutes. Mainly Polish, with English subtitles. Classification reason: Strong language.
